Shabana Azmi breaks down on ‘Padmavati’ controversy, says boycott of Goa Film Festival Industry


  • Shabana Azmi also criticized Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani, who was sitting silently on the ongoing controversy over Padmavati. He said in the tweet, “Smriti Irani is preparing for IFFI and due to the Indian film industry, the festival has reached this point but she is silent on ‘Padmavati’.”

Actress Shabana Azmi has come forward in support of the film. He tweeted, “All the shops are being run by the government in power. The film industry should stand together with ‘Padmavati’. Along with this, he has also questioned the film industry for making silence on the Padmavati controversy.


  • Along with this, Shabana asked the film world to boycott the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa in protest of threat against Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his film ‘Padmavati’ Actress Deepika Padukone. Shabana tweeted on this issue and called upon the people of the film to come forward in support of the film. The 48th edition of IFFI will be held in Goa between November 20-28.
